- Foreign body ingestion can cause gastrointestinal ulceration, laceration, gastritis, obstruction or loss of buoyancy. Foreign bodies are occasionally ingested intentionally (pica) or accidentally with prey. The following is a report of endoscope assisted removal of foreign bodies in an African bullfrog, Pyxicephalus adspersus.
