Sarcocystis-Like Parasite in a Black Headed Monitor, Varanus tristis tristis Simon Hollamby and John Creeper
Australia - Our finding of a Sarcocyst-like species in a black-headed monitor is the first report of this protozoan in this species. It is possible the clinical disease in the monitor was related to the presence of the parasite in muscle tissue. Concurrent stress and the age of the specimen may have contributed to its death. |
